Our Hikes

Our hikes vary in terrain, pace and difficulty. Take a look at the Hiker Resource
page for hike descriptions. The descriptions will help you select hikes ranging from
leisurely-paced hikes, that accommodate chatting with friends or quietly capturing
the scenery, faster-paced hikes or hikes with more challenging terrain and/or
distance, or something in-between.

Our hike schedules are available on-line to members and non-members alike. We
encourage individuals of any age and physical condition to join us on a hike.

We schedule a variety of hikes every day of the year, including holidays. That
means you may select a location, time and distance that meets your interest and
schedule. A list of our scheduled hikes can be found on the Hike Schedules page.

Our Hikers

We encourage our members to hike, but we do not pressure anyone to hike any
more than they would like to. Each month, hundreds of members are recognized on
our “mile-a-day” list for hiking one mile for every day in that month. We also
celebrate a member’s hiking milestones starting with their first 100 miles. Many of
our members have hiked 10,000 miles or more with us. Some veteran members
have hiked many more.

Our Other Activities

Although hiking is our major focus, we are also a social club. Some of our hikes end
with a post-hike stop for coffee, ice cream, pizza, or at a local pub. We also plan
potluck dinners, campfires, and cookouts in the months when the weather allows.
Our hikes and social activities allow us to meet new friends, catch up with old
acquaintances, and enjoy the outdoors.

For those who like to travel and explore, our member organize trips with the primary
purpose of hiking that offer our members the opportunity to travel and explore many
national and state parks, wilderness areas, historic, cultural and scenic places in the
United States and all over the world.

Joining Us

To become eligible for membership, just hike with us six times within 365 days. Talk
with the hike leader on your first hike to learn the process for recording your first six
