Based on the advance registrations we are expecting a larger than normal crowd for the May 18 General Meeting, Pavilion Dedication and Life Time Achievement Awards. We haven’t exceeded the seating capacity of the new pavilion but we’re close. While seating won’t be a problem parking will be. If at all possible please try and arrange to car pool to the event. If enough people can car pool we should have enough parking spaces for everyone.

In addition to car pooling it will be very helpful if the members who are doing the hikes before the event park in a reasonable manner. Since people will be arriving at different times throughout the morning it’s not practical to station attendants in the parking lot to maintain order. Please try to park as you would in a normal parking lot. The members who arrive later will appreciate it.

Note that parking is not allowed on Kellogg Road. There is a small parking lot 1/3 mile north of camp at the Buckeye Trail Head. It holds maybe 6 or 7 cars. You also have the option of parking at the Hinckley Reservation and having someone pick you up there if you can’t car pool the whole way from home. Given the weather forecast for the next few days the grounds are likely to be soft so parking on the grass, as we often do in the summer, probably won’t be an option.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation,

Bob DiVincenzo & Sandy Paliga
