There are still numerous issues remaining in the North Chagrin Reservation after this month’s storms. Official closures and alerts for all areas affected by the storms can be found at:
https://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/parks/visit/alerts-closures
Please observe any road or trail closure signs you see within any of our parks. The park staff are working on cleaning up and assessing any damage. The safety of our hikers is always our major concern.
Therefore, all hikes in the North Chagrin Reservation are being relocated. Beginning Thursday, August 22nd all Leisure Hikes are moved to the Lake County Metroparks, Pete’s Pond Preserve at 2255 Rockefeller Road. All other Moderate/Energetic hikes are being relocated to Chapin Forest, Quarry Shelter PL at 9930 Chillicothe Road (SR 306).
We apologize to both hike leaders and hikers for this last minute change. The members of the Cleveland Hiking Club must observe the ‘trail is closed’ request from the park system. The park staff must be given the time and space to remove the fallen trees and debris from the park.
We will keep you updated at a later date as to the September hiking schedule. Thank you all for your cooperation and understanding.
