Beginning Monday, March 3 and ending Friday, March 7, there will be a detour on State Route 303 near Peninsula.  State Route 303 will be closed between I-271 and River Road for erosion repairs.  Detour signs will be posted,  The detour will involve I-271 to State Route 8, to State Route 303.  Please allow yourself extra time to get to hikes in the CVNP, including those at Boston Visitor Center, Lock 29 in Peninsula.

A construction project will be starting in March 2025 and lasting through at least October 2025 affecting CHC hikers. The Ohio Department of Transportation is planning to replace the superstructure of the Chardon Road (US-6) bridge over the Chagrin River in Willoughby Hills. The bridge will be closed to all traffic during construction and traffic will be detoured to I-90. The one lane bridge parallel to the Chardon road bridge is scheduled to close as well. The official detour will utilize SR 91 (SOM Center Road), I-90, and SR 306 (Chillicothe Road).  Hikers going to the North Chagrin Reservation, Chapin Forest and Gully Brook, depending on your direction of travel, may need to allow themselves some extra time.
