The federal government shutdown is already impacting Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). At this time, non-essential park staff are furloughed, trail maintenance is paused, public services are limited, and public programs may be canceled or postponed. We will share updates as they become available.
Trails and most parking lots are accessible during the shutdown, but trails may not be maintained. Some restrooms remain open, but trash and cleaning services may be limited. You may consider using a non-CVNP restroom prior to the hike. Visitor centers are closed during the shutdown.
During this period of limited services, we encourage you to employ ‘leave no trace’ principles by staying on marked paths, obeying posted notices, and packing out trash for disposal outside the park.
All scheduled Cleveland Hiking Club hikes will proceed as planned.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of the CVNP as they work through resolving this situation.
Mary, Chief Pathfinder
