Make Music Winter Hike and Social

Mark your calendars now for a fun and festive hike and social on Saturday, December 21st, at 4:30 pm. We’ll meet at the Cleveland sign in Tremont, at Abbey Avenue and West 14th Street. RSVP to the leader by December 16th.
Make Music Winter Day makemusicday.org/about/winter, which began in 2011, is a free, international happening that is open to everyone to encourage the public sharing of music. What better way to celebrate Make Music Winter than to do it while hiking!
During the hike, we will entertain passersby with caroling or kazooing some well-known holiday tunes. No experience needed. If you have a kazoo or some jingle bells, bring those. We will have some extra to loan if needed. Holiday song lyrics are provided.
Please arrive early (4 pm) to socialize so the hike can begin on time. Bring holiday treats to share. We’ll have hot chocolate and cider on hand.
December 21st is the Winter Solstice and the longest night of the year. We’ll be hiking city streets, but feel free to bring a flashlight and bundle up for the weather. Hikers are strongly encouraged to wear smile-making, festive holiday gear.
The five-mile hike will be at a moderate pace. However, please allow plenty of extra time for spontaneous Make Music stops along the way.
We should return to our starting point by 7 pm. After the hike, we will head to a popular local eatery in Tremont for dinner. Reservations are required.
