Join up to 20 lucky CHC members for a three-night holiday weekend to the scenic Raystown Lake region of central
Pennsylvania for hilly hiking, glorious fall colors, and unique historical outings. Our getaway destination is just a four-hour
drive east from Cleveland, near Huntingdon, PA. The estimated cost of the trip is under $550.
Trip highlights and key information:
• Cozy up with the group in the comfy, clean, and spacious 5-star rated Chocolate Moose Chalet in shared
accommodations on six private, wooded acres.
• Up to 25 miles of hiking (two rugged ten-milers, one five-miler). Participants must complete one of the ten-milers.
• Hop a ride on the historic East Broad Top narrow-gauge railroad.
• Board the Proud Mary Showboat for a sightseeing cruise on Raystown Lake.
• Kick back at the chalet by the crackling fire.
• Soak your hike-weary bones in the chalet’s huge hot tub.
• Meals will be a combination of dining out, planned potlucks, and self-catered.
• Self-transportation. Car-pooling is encouraged.

Pre-requisites: The trip is open to active CHC members as of August 1, 2024. To participate, a member must complete
one of the following between May 1, 2024, and August 1, 2024: One ten-mile or longer hike, or consecutive hikes totaling
at least ten miles.
