Greetings Hike Leaders:

Hike leaders have often suggested that the club have a more flexible hike scheduling process, one that required less lead time for scheduling; a schedule entered, produced, and published on a monthly basis. The Board has helped facilitate the faster schedule production by using electronic meeting format and a committee approval process. 

We are looking at adjusting our schedule sign-up period to better meet the needs of our hike leaders. We are gradually moving closer to entering hikes closer to hike time. So, imagine that you will finish entering your December hikes by November 7th, and you will then see the December schedule posted on the website on November 15th. 

This may allow you more time to check out park/community events to put on the schedule. Hike leaders will still have time to plan their hikes, and the Pathfinder Committee will still be behind the scene reviewing, editing and making sure all information is accurate; checking for issues and making sure that we all have a good mix of hikes to choose from each day. 

That will still give CHC members two weeks to choose their hikes, print a copy, or save the schedule to your phone.

We will be monitoring hike leader input to make sure the system is working properly for everyone involved. The goal is to keep the CHC hiking schedule as good as it ever was, if not better. Your help and input is greatly appreciated.

The sign-up period to lead hikes for December of 2025 is open from November 1st until the deadline on Friday, November 7th at midnight.  Please log in to the CHC website at:  https://clevelandhikingclub.org/hike-scheduling/ and add some hikes.

Once you are done entering your hikes, remember to run the “Schedule of Activities by Leader” and check to make sure all of your information entered is correct.  You can find this on the same page where you scheduled your hikes.  We appreciate your help in verifying your information and notifying us as quickly as possible if there are any issues. The information appearing on the hiking schedule is the information you entered, please review it carefully.
