St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Hike

The parade is back once again!! This is our 22nd year to be invited to march in “The Big One” downtown. We will meet at the Emperor’s Palace Restaurant, 2136 Rockwell Avenue, to begin the five-mile hike. Access Rockwell via East 21st or East 24th from St. Clair Avenue, as Superior Avenue will be closed to traffic. On-street parking is available. Please note: there will be a fee if you park in the restaurant lot.
A suggestion for those hikers who would like to participate, but don’t like driving downtown alone is to get together with some other hikers and carpool to the parade. You could all meet at one place (perhaps one of your regular hike locations) and travel downtown together in one car.
This year we will again proudly carry our 25-foot CHC banner, which requires 15 members to handle. If you have never marched in a parade and experienced the excitement and applause as we pass the reviewing stand, this is your chance.
Plan to socialize after the hike at Emperor’s Palace, or if you prefer Irish fare, there are many choices nearby.
